County Council Elections 2012 - Our Manifesto for Trelech, Meidrim, Abernant & Llanwinio

In addition to the issues we have been campaigning on in the last few years, we are also concentrating on an additional set of issues for the 2012 elections. We want to see action on:

  • Better Public Transport for Rural Areas - in many parts of our area there simply isn't any public transport. We need the successful 'Bwcabus' service (which operates only in the Teifi Valley at present) to be extended to all the County's rural areas. This will mean more people will be able to get access to a bus service.
  • Stopping Fly-Tipping on Rural Roads - this is becoming an increasing problem. But, we also need the Council to provide a better recycling and rubbish removal service.
  • Reducing vehicle speeds in our villages - we need action to reduce speed limits and put in place traffic calming measures.
  • An independent review into the Council's Planning Department - there are many complaints about the way planning issues are dealt with - this needs to change.
