Campaigning Track Record

Selwyn is an active campaigner for local people in this Constituency. Key campaigns have included:
- Working within the Business Chamber Movement to secure more investment for the area which will create more jobs.
- Speeding up the local planning systems in both Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
- Pressing for more investment in the rail infrastructure of West Wales including the re-opening of local stations closed under Dr Beeching (such as the key station at St Clears).
- Working to abolish short-stay car parking charges in the small towns across the Constituency - to help both local businesses and local people.
- More play areas within local neighnourhoods.
- Supporting local voluntary organisations and charities.
- Better public transport especially for our rural villages.
- Improving local Health Services including care for older people and improved respite services for carers.
- Improving the management and efficiency of our two County Councils.
