Welsh Liberal Democrat predictions that the government's ill-considered free NHS parking scheme would lead to chaos are being proved right at a major Welsh hospital.
Less than 9 months after free parking was introduced, Singleton Hospital in Swansea is introducing a token parking system this week, as recommended by the Welsh Liberal Democrats back in April.
Jenny Randerson, Welsh Lib Dem health spokesperson, said: "Back in March, we warned that the free parking gimmick was 'ill-considered populism'. The announcement from Singleton Hospital shows how right we were.
"The Labour-Plaid government's policy of putting treats first and treatment second is backfiring on them. The sooner they revisit it the better."
